Death of Prof. Dr. Winfried Büttner

On 21 June 2014, patent attorney Prof. Dr. Winfried Büttner, member of the Executive Committee and of the General Council of our Association, passed away following a severe illness.

For many years Prof. Dr. Büttner was head of the central patent department at Siemens and in that capacity had been a GRUR member since 2004. He was elected as a member of the General Council just one year later, and became a member of the Executive Committee a year after that. In Prof. Büttner we have lost a man whose outstanding competence in the field was undisputed and whose pleasant, gentle and always calm manner was appreciated by all those whom he encountered.

Prof. Dr. Winfried Büttner will be remembered with gratitude and appreciation.
