1st GRUR European Roundtable: “The future of the European E-Commerce liability regime”

As of 2013, GRUR has launched a new series of events entitled “GRUR European Roundtables” to provide an additional opportunity for expert exchange and high-level debate of current topical European IP issues. Number of roundtable attendees shall be limited to 25 persons so that there is enough time and space for an in-depth discussion and possibly for working out joint recommendations.

This series will start with a roundtable on basic issues of liability and responsibility of internet intermediaries, following up the consultation of the EU-Commission concerning a notice-and-take-action procedure and taking up different developments in the member states, in particular injunctions and blocking internet connections (search engines, access providers). The aim of the roundtable is to exchange perspectives and statements about the future development of the core issues for internet activities on a European level, bringing together high ranked judges, members of parliament, professors, and practitioners, as well as representatives of the relevant departments of the EU Commission and of industries involved.
