Registrations open for GRUR/AIPPI Joint Brussels 2015 "The proposed EU framework for protection of trade secrets – state of play and challenges"

On 28 November 2013 the European Commission proposed new rules on the protection of undisclosed know-how and business information (trade secrets) against their unlawful acquisition, use and disclosure. Meanwhile, the ministers in the Competitiveness Council have agreed on a general approach to the proposal and several hearings in the competent committees of the European Parliament have taken place. The dossier is now awaiting committee decision by the responsible Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI), with a vote expected at its forthcoming meeting on 24 March 2015. Subsequently, an indicative plenary sitting date/first reading is scheduled for 8 September 2015.

Against this background, the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) and the German Group of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI Germany) are delighted to present to you a comprehensive roundup of the context, core issues and state of play of the emerging legislation, and invite you to their GRUR/AIPPI Joint Brussels Workshop entitled:

"The proposed EU framework for protection of trade secrets – state of play and challenges"

The workshop, which is the 6th edition of the GRUR meets Brussels Workshops, will be held on 1 April 2015 from 12.30 to 18.30 at the Representation of the State of North-Rhine Westphalia to the EU in Brussels and will be followed by a cocktail reception.
